This is Roxy. Also known as: R-O-X-Y (because she comes every time you call her name which sometimes is not necessary). Roxy from the Block is another name she was given way back when JLo was "from the block" too. This one is the best behaved. She is crate trained and potty trained. She does a trick (just one), and is unconditional. She sleeps with the kids at night and if you say "Roxy, go lay down with one of the kids", she will. It's cool. She loves to run and will escape when given the chance. If she gets out, she runs and runs and runs and runs... she's like a gazelle. Long 'ol legs like an antelope. We rescued Rox from a shelter and I knew I wanted her because she was the only one that wasn't barking her head off from the edge of the pens they were in. This place was dirty and crowded and sad. We could not leave without a dog. We picked her, she's not very cuddly but she would never hurt the kids and doesn't even growl at them when they are annoying her. She's faithful and sometimes playful and has a little black moustache. She is a nice part of our family.

The boys
These are my dachshunds. Charlie is an epileptic red hair smoothie and Papa Fritz is a wire hair. Such great dispositions and happy go lucky, snugly little boys. We adore these stupid dogs. We bought Charlie after our chihuahua-dachshund mix was hit by a car in 2003 (I bought Charlie the same day Max died because my mother died the month before and I could not replace my mother but I sure as shit could replace a dog for my children). Fritz was a rescue. He was on his last day, the pet store next to my work picked him up and one of the workers brought him to my restaurant and tied him outside. I went to say hi and she said "he's up for adoption" I said "no, I've got 3 at home"... and then... I told Amy, she said "hell no", I drove her and the kids to the pet store, we looked at Papa... I held him in my arms and he reached over my shoulder and gave Lukas a long, slow lick up the side of his face and that's all she wrote... we filled out the paper work on a Thursday and by Friday night he was living in our house. All the dogs are a little skittish towards the kids, they can't pick them up or lay next to them but not Papa, he lets those kids love him all they want. We call him Papa because he looks like Amy's dad with his long crazy eyebrows, his beard and his gray hair. He's a "daddy dog". Both of these boys are joys in our lives.
